Hotel Palacio Marques de Prado Ameno, Havana, Cuba. The newly reopen (April/2008) the Marques de Prado Ameno Palace Hotel, is an type boutique installation , located in the street O´Reilly, to single meters of the Obispo street and nearby the Plaza de Armas, Plaza de la Catedral and Parque Central.
The hotel takes its name of a prominent family that lived in that construction and that it transformed this colonial mansion of the XIX century into hotel. With category 4 stars offers 16 rooms, included 3 Suites and 13 rooms standard, decorated with their restored paintings murals, original of the XVIII and XIX centuries.
In this hotel the famous black poet Juan Francisco Manzano, served as slave to the Marquises of Prado Ameno family and gained its freedom thanks to the negotiations of several personalities of the time, like Domingo del Monte and Jose de la Luz y Caballeros.
