Campismo Playitas de Cajobabo is a camping facility located in the province of Guantánamo (Cuba).
It is located on the south coast of the island
• 400 m west (walking along the beach) of the Playita de Cajobabo Monument
• 900 m southeast of the village of Cajobabo,
• 17 km east of the town of ImÃas,
• 54 km south of the city of Baracoa.
The campsite Playitas de Cajobabo was inaugurated on July 25, 1984 and offered 800 capacities in canvas tents. Later, II level cabins and cabins with private bathrooms were built. Currently it has 73 cabins and 228 beds, broken down into 33 first level cabins (148 beds) and 40 second level cabins.
The beach of Cajobabo is the place of the historical landings of José Martà and Máximo Gómez on April 10, 1895 during the struggle for the independence of Cuba. The landing of Playita de Cajobabo was the beginning of MartÃ's march, which became known as the "Route to Glory".
Today, Cajobabo, of about 2000 dispersed inhabitants, is a virgin and forgotten backwater. As a perfect place to stop, swim and relax between Baracoa and Guantánamo. If you can navigate the road to the second beach to the east, just across a small promontory, you may have it all for yourself.
