Vagon Mambi or Coche Mambi - Address: Old Havana, Cuba

El Vagon Mambi or Coche Mambi. Only three copies of this car model were built in United States in 1900 and they were assigned to rail companies of United States, Mexico and Cuba. In 1912 it arrives the one dedicated to Cuba and its named Coche Mambi, in honour to Tomas Estrada Palma.
As it put on to the service of the successive presidents of the Republic, it was also known as Presidential Car. Donated as means of transport of the President, it’s used for those purposes from 1912, with Jose Miguel Gomez government until the year 1959.
After the revolutionary victory, it passed to the platform La Cochera, in the Terminal of Railroads, and in 1987 it began to be exhibited

It had the name of Vagon Mambi and it has receiver, bedrooms, bathrooms, dining room and kitchen. The governor of the time travelled in him the whole Island in his wife's company, servants and personal security.

Parked in the street to a side of the building, the train keeps today, in its interior, a piece of the history and of the political life of the presidents that travelled in him.
