The Varadero Golf Club, the first 18 hole Golf Course in Cuba was designed by architect Les Furber, President of the Canadian company Golf Design Services is located in Peñas de San Bernardino.
Its location completes its excellence, because it is located in one of the most beautiful spots of the Hicacos Peninsula, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and a wonderful beach. It has several salt water lakes that connect directly to the sea, a feature that makes it almost unique worldwide.

The Golf course combines different styles, including classical, with broad streets limited by trees, and wide and unprotected greens.
The complement to the golf course is the Club House, where players meet after a golf session. The Xanadu Mansion, as it is called, was the luxurious residence of the Dupont family, built in 1930 at a cost of 1.3 million dollars, and it was designed by architects Cavarrocas and Govantes in 1927. The Xanadu mansion, is now utilized as a restaurant and luxury guest accommodations.

Playing 6269 meters (6896 Yards) from the tips (Gold), 5778 meters (6356 Yards) from the Blue's, 5248 meters (5773 Yards) from the White's and 4672 meters from the Green (5139 Yards).

This par 72 course will challenge every facet of your game and yet it is an extremely fair course. As usual, if you stray from the fairways, you pay when you stray. The signature hole is the 18th and what a homecoming it is. The view is spectacular with the magnificent view of the Caribbean sea.

In the fairway the player will face uneven levels of grass that require skilful approximation shots. The sea is included as another obstacle in the game.
