Casa De La Obra Pia . This aristocratic Havana's residence was built in the first half of the XVII century and reconstructed in 1780, soon after of the British occupation.
The external facade presents a beautiful decoration and among the two interior patios there is a splendid room. Considered as one of the most important examples in the domestic architecture of Havana, Casa De La Obra Pia is today one of the institutions that conforms the patrimonial net of the Historian of the City Office.
The institution has two permanent rooms: The Spanish America in Carlos' III time and Retorno a la Semilla, dedicated to expose objects belonging to the writer Alejo Carpentier.
One of their rooms serves from headquarters to Hermandad de Tejedoras de Belén, association assisted by the Historian of the City Office, that it insists in the rescue of the manual arts of the sewing, the embroidery and the fabric.
