Monument to Armoured Train . The derailment action, assault and taking of the Armoured Train of Batista's tyranny, for the rebellious troops commanded by Ernesto Ché Guevara in December 29, 1958, was one of the most outstanding facts during the last stage war.
December 29, 1971 is erected a monument to this action in their own historical scenario. Years later, July 13, 1986 would adopt a new artistic conception, being their author, the Cuban sculptor José Delarra. The monument is located in an area of 50 m of wide for 200 m of bottom, limited by the railroad and the Cubanicay river in Santa Clara, Villa Clara. This place was the derailment scenario, assault and taking of the Armoured Train of the Batista’s tyranny. |
